I'm craving spring, if you couldn't tell. Treated myself to a cute little shamrock plant for three bucks. The little white flowers are so cute and dainty!
I'm pretty sure my mom had one of these for several years. I remember it sitting on the kitchen table when she made us green eggs & ham for St. Pat's. Its leaves and flowers close up during the night, and open up wide during the day. It still fascinates me every morning.
I fear that I'm becoming the cat lady of plants. I've never owned a plant until this year, but now I have a shamrock, a huge corn plant, basil (growing strong!), mint, aloe (courtesy of mom), pothos, snake plant (mother-in-law's tongue), and a teeny tiny money tree. They make my living space feel alive and happy. I guess the plant obsession is in my genes, but I sure do have a lot of learning to do.
I recently read about the Purple Heart, and I kinda want one of those. Anybody have a cutting to spare?

Topped with broccoli, sour cream & scallions.
This sparked a conversation—is there a difference between chives, green onions and scallions? Looks like the answer is yes and no. Scallions and green onions are the same thing, but chives are different. At least that's what it says here. I always use scallions/green onions.
So now you know.

Bookmarked a how-to for these little babies a little while ago at Design*Sponge. They're so cute! Where should I purchase succulents? Any recommendations on what kind to get? I'll store this little project away for a rainy day—I always see those globes for about 25 cents at Salvation Army. They'd be nice little gifts, too.

I've never been a big fan of carnations, but look how beautiful they are in numbers! Spotted this article over at Decor8 while doing some research to design my friend's wedding invites.
Two of my close friends are now engaged, and I'm SO excited for both of them and their husbands-to-be. Ooh that's so strange to say. My friends will have husbands soon. Oh my, we're becoming adults. Congratulations, girls—Er, ladies! So happy for you : )

I really enjoyed collaborating with my brother, Chris, to create this logo for his soon-to-be company, Big Bend Property Management, LLC. I'm excited for him!
I'll let you know when his website is up and running.
By the way, Chris, I must say that you were an excellent client.
[This is #7 on the list of things to do before I turn 25!)
