Could it be? New Stars?

Digging the way this song sounds. Police & The Private by Metric.

It very much reminds me of Stars.

Time to listen to some more to see if the rest of their stuff is as good. Hope so!!

Does anybody check this ol' blog any more? Perhaps I will get back to posting more regularly : )

Dear Granddaughter:

I check it every day.

Good to have you back.

Listened to the song. Then looked up lyrics.

I would really like some help in understanding what they are saying.
Can you lend some light?

Grandmothers need to keep up with what's going on, you know.

Love ya forever....and beyond.

Heya Grandma,

To be honest, I don't fully understand the lyrics either, which is why I admitted to liking just the way the song sounds. It seems like perhaps the lyrics are about drugs, though. I have to say that I was kind of bummed after I looked up the lyrics.

metric and stars run in the same small "canadian bands now in nyc" circle. they collaborate often. both have members that are also in broken social scene. metric covered the stars song he lied about death on stars' album do you trust your friends?. also, emily haines, the lead singer for metric, has a solo album that you should check out.

many people suspect the police and the private to be about drugs, but i offer an alternative view: it's about a prostitute.
